Surrogacy in Ukraine

13 Feb 2022 – If you are expecting a birth in Ukraine and need to travel, please tell the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) that you are there – use this link

Check the gov.uk travel site for the latest advice at this link

If you are already in Ukraine with your new born, contact the Embassy immediately.  Emergency Travel Documents (ETD) are NOT being issued because clear government advice is not to travel to Ukraine.  No new surrogacy arrangements should have been entered into post war.  You are strongly advised not to enter into a surrogacy arrangement in Ukraine.  I will not be advising on any arrangements in Ukraine or, arrangements with underlying transactions in Ukraine.

You MUST always review the gov.uk website for current UK sanctions.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/uk-sanctions

Please check the names of all parties in your arrangement (agents, agency owners, associated companies, admin, doctors and surrogates) on – The UK Sanctions List – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

Breaching UK government sanctions is a criminal offence.
